Outdoors

Summer is finally on the way and it’s time to make sure your days in the great outdoors are truly great.

Join Matt Russell, Tamarack Adventure & Retreat Center Director, who will tell us about some great excursions throughout Michigan to explore. Plus, we’ll interact with Alex Rosenberg, Director of Farber Farm at Tamarack for a demonstration on how to create a window box herb garden.

To help you plan your summer fun, you’ll also get an outdoor adventure kit filled with lots of other great ideas like where to find local trails, the best farmers markets, food trucks, plus detailed herb box instructions and more.

You’ll hear about adventures that will be fun to do with friends, spouses, partners, kids and grandkids. But mostly, we’ll focus on you and summertime “me” time.

Adventure kit pickup will be on Monday, June 14 at the Federation Building in Bloomfield Hills. Other pickup locations will be available if you can’t make it then. All details will be provided after you register.

Go outside and play. To have your adventure kit ready in time for this event you must order and register by June 10th.

If you plan to follow along with Farmer Alex to create your own herb garden window box, please make sure you have the following materials ready:

• One plastic, terra cotta, or wooden window box pot with drainage holes

• One small bag of new potting soil

• A few herb seedlings or “plugs” of choice

• Watering can and water

• One plastic tub or big metal bowl

What’s Up Next?

Up Next is a new life stage group for Jewish women who have reached a certain milestone in life. Empty-nesters or never-nesters, we are blessed with less responsibility and more “me” time to pursue what’s next — from passion projects, community service, to learning new hobbies and connecting with other women who share their same experiences and hope.
